The Woodmore Athletic Booster Club proudly offers scholarships to support our student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits. These scholarships are designed to recognize and reward the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our athletes both on the field and in the classroom. By providing financial assistance, the Booster Club aims to empower students to continue their education and athletic careers, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed. WOODMORE ATHLETIC BOOSTERS 2023-2024 SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Woodmore Athletic Boosters will award up to a maximum of six $500 scholarships to qualifying applicants. The scholarships will be awarded for the pursuit of higher education and is recognized for athletic participation, team contribution and commitment. These awards will be presented at the annual Spring Academic Banquet.
Please return the completed application and all of the required attachments to the Woodmore Guidance Office NO LATER THAN the end of the school day, Friday, April 19, 2024. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all documents are complete and submitted to the Woodmore Guidance Office, Mr. Clair BY FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2024.
Qualification Criteria for Applying for the Woodmore High School Athletic Scholarship are:
- The applicant’s family MUST be a member of the Woodmore Athletic Boosters and has volunteered with the Boosters in different capacities.
- The applicant MUST maintain a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- The applicant MUST complete and submit, by the posted deadline, the application and supporting documents.
- The applicant MUST be a 12th grade student in good standing at Woodmore High School and have participated on at least one varsity athletic team during the students’ last two years at WHS.
- The applicant MUST have received at least ONE (1) varsity letter.
The Applicant Must Submit the Following Documents Which will be the Basis for Selection:
- Completed Scholarship Application including all documents.
- Proof of acceptance to college or trade/technical school.
- Student’s GPA.
- Applicant’s essay entitled, choose one of the following: “How did you support and promote your sport(s) as well as other sports you did not participate in during your high school career?” OR “Who has influenced your life most regarding sports and how has he/she been an influence?” (Please limit your response to 300 typed words or less, double spaced.)
Selection Committee:
The Executive Committee of the Woodmore Athletic Boosters will serve as the “Selection Committee”. Coaches or faculty members of Woodmore High School may be consulted for information regarding individual applicants, they will NOT, however, have any vote in the selection process. Woodmore Athletic Booster members who are a parent, step-parent, or guardian of a graduating WHS student-athlete MAY NOT participate on the scholarship application committee and replacement will be appointed.
Deadline:
The Woodmore Athletic Booster Scholarship Application is due: Friday, April 19, 2024. Please turn it in to Mr. Clair, in the Woodmore Guidance Office, by the end of the school day.
Applications turned in after this date will not be considered.
